People often use 21 and Blackjack interchangeably. Modern variations of the games are the same. However, it was not always that way. Nevada legalized gambling in the 1930s. Over time, that rule and others were changed to fit with Nevada’s gambling laws. Eventually, casinos stopped offering special odds based on the players’ hands. However, the name Blackjack stuck around.
