Reuters Report from Thimphu, Bhutan, on February 7 that Mr Loknat Sharma, Minister of Economic Affairs of Bhutan Speaking on the sidelines of the India Energy Week Conference In Bengaluru, Bhutan currently produces about 2,345 megawatts of electricity during the surplus period when water is available. But it will drop to 500 MW in the winter. This results in the need to import electricity from India.
Although most of the energy Bhutan produces comes from hydroelectric power. which is a clean energy source But it's not just about the country's year-round energy needs.
“More industries are coming to Bhutan, so we need more solar in the coming years,” Sharma said.
